About this Event

Lammas also called Lughnasadh (loo-nassa, falls on August 1st -historically celebrated with harvest festivals by our ancestors, it is a Pagan celebration with Celtic origin. It is the first of 3 harvests.

Although the days are still hot, sunshine is still abundant, and the fields and forests are still teaming with life, we can begin to feel the tell tale signs of the approaching autumn. The sun sets earlier with each passing day, and many plants begin to wither, dropping their seed to the ground, so that new life can return at the start of the next growing season.

This festival reminds us that we need to look after and respect the beauty and vulnerability of the EARTH around us, with the same being true of ourselves - It is a time to deepen our own SELF CARE.

Lammas is a time for REFLECTING on the seeds we planted in our own lives back in the early days of Spring (at IMBOLC) and all that has MANIFESTED since then – the flowers or crops that have grown from our efforts!

Lammas is a great time to practice GRATITUDE and CELEBRATE - to really think about what and who we are grateful for in the height of summer light!

Lammas also teaches us to cut back. At this time, the crops and flowers are pruned,so that there maybe be some regrowth during the last few weeks of summer. It is the perfect time to EVALUATE our own lives and to see what can be cut back, and pruned, in order for our own REGROWTH.

Afternoon will include:-

*KUNDALINI KRIYAS

*PRANAYAMA PRACTICES

*MEDITATIONS

*LOTS of MANTRAS to uplift and soothe your soul

*Seasonal YOGA NIDRA for deep rest

PLUS

*LIVE PERCUSSION and DRUMMING from Mat Pickles

*PLANT BASED, HIGH VIBE SNACKS and HEALTH TONICS with herbal teas and fruit will be served in the break.

We look forward to sharing these practices with you and harnessing the power of Lammas to give GRATITUDE for all that we are and all that we have in this life!
