Pale Strangers
Rising from the ashes of the acclaimed UK rock duo Rival Bones, Pale Strangers represents a bold evolution in the heavy alternative scene. Formed in Liverpool by guitarist/vocalist Chris Thomason and drummer James Whitehouse, the duo traded their blues-rock origins for a more expansive, atmospheric, and crushing sound during their 2023 rebirth.
Drawing inspiration from the gritty weight of desert rock and the melodic depth of modern alt-metal, Pale Strangers delivers a sonic experience that belies their two-piece lineup. Their music is defined by fuzzed-out, monolithic riffs paired with powerhouse percussion, creating a wall of sound that has earned them slots at major festivals like Isle of Wight and INmusic. With a focus on raw energy and cinematic tension, Pale Strangers is no longer just a band—it’s a resurrection of North West rock at its most primal.
indifferentMonKeY
Originally formed in the Summer of 2022. They are an alternative rock band that blends elements of rock, electronic, and trip-hop, creating a unique and eclectic sound that feels like a new genre which has been referred to as "Trip Hop Rock".
The band is known for its atmospheric music, often incorporating deep grooves, edgy guitar riffs, and soulful vocals. Their songs tend to have a dark, moody vibe, exploring themes of societal struggles, personal introspection, and the human condition.
IndifferentMonKeY has carved out a niche in the indie music scene, appealing to fans who enjoy thought-provoking lyrics, experimental sounds, and genre fusion, often compared to bands like Massive Attack, Prodigy, Black Sabbath or Portishead. The band, within their first year, won “Best Band 22” at the Radio Wigwam/Jamma Music live music award ceremony in London, and as last years winners headlined at the 2024 awards at the icon Bedford in Bahlam. They were recently hand picked by Chris Hawkins from BBC6music to open up the popular Highest Point Festival in Lancaster.
Cold July
A young band from Guildford that blends classic singer-songwriter influences with a fresh, modern perspective. Their sound is both timeless and contemporary, resonating across generations of music fans.
With a male/female co-lead dynamic and rich three-part harmonies, Cold July evokes Rumours era Fleetwood Mac and the California music scene of the 70s. Their music also draws from the melodic craftsmanship of Crowded House, the anthemic acoustic rock of the Goo Goo Dolls, the harmony-driven indie folk of Flyte and the storytelling depth of Passenger and Phoebe Bridgers.
Formed in May 2024 at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford, the band bonded over their love of classic songwriting and ambition to create lasting music. Though only 18, their songwriting shows a maturity beyond their years. This is clear in their debut single Song For Him, a heartfelt tribute written by lead singer Luke Fyfe in memory of a family friend. With soaring melodies, poignant lyrics and an epic acoustic rock arrangement, the song sets the tone for what Cold July represents.
With a deep respect for music history and influences spanning the 60s to today, Cold July carries a quiet confidence that is both endearing and electrifying.
