Gosforth's Wild Web: In Search of a Special Orchid

Enjoy a friendly, informal walk in search of late-summer orchids with NHSN Senior Naturalist, James Common.
On this walk, we'll focus on finding the rare Tyne Hellebroine (Epipactis dunensis var. Tynensis) at one of its only sites in the city, recording any we find as part of Gosforth's Wild Web. We should also encounter Broad-leaved Helleborine, any lingering marsh-orchids, and a range of other interesting plants.
Please bring sturdy footwear and waterproofs if needed.

About the Event Lead:
James works as Senior Naturalist at NHSN. Outside of work, he is a passionate wildlife recorder with a focus on botany and invertebrates. As a botanist, he is a joint BSBI Vice-County Recorder for North Northumberland and an iRecord verifier for South Northumberland, and recently published the .
