About this event
Join NHSN Senior Naturalist, James Common, for a beginner-friendly morning walk in search of ferns.
Species to tick off include:
Male-fern, Borrer's Male-fern, Golden-scaly Male-fern, Hart's-tongue, Hard Fern, Lady-fern & Broad Buckler-fern.
This will be a relaxed, explorative walk. Please wear clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy footwear, and also perhaps optics/a hand lens.

About the Event Lead
James works as Senior Naturalist at NHSN. Outside of work, he is a passionate wildlife recorder with a focus on botany and invertebrates. As a botanist, he is a joint BSBI Vice-County Recorder for North Northumberland and has a particular fondness for ferns, grasses and ancient woodland plants.
