About this Event
Our 4/5 Story Time with the Natick Service Council falls the day before Good Deeds Day! A day of encouraging helping others and doing good for our community, fostering a sense of compassion and kindness around us.
Kelsey Hampton, Director of Community Engagement at the Natick Service Council will join us to read Saturday at the Food Pantry by Diane O'Neill and Give by Jen Arena.
Saturday at the Food Pantry: The book gently destigmatizes food insecurity without being preachy; soft illustrations show friendly shoppers and workers, making the pantry look like a welcoming place. - The Horn Book, Book Bundles
Give: A gorgeous and powerful book about how simple acts of kindness can change the world. Pay It Forward. Random Acts of Kindness. The Golden Rule. Choose Kind.
As parents, teachers, grandparents, aunts and uncles, we hope to teach children compassion, kindness, and selflessness. This unforgettable story shows the power of simple acts of kindness and the potential to change other people’s days for the better.
If you’d like to do a good deed and support the NSC and our neighbors, you can donate one of their most needed items: diapers (sizes 5, 6 and 7 are most needed)
NSC is dedicated to serving the most economically disadvantaged members of our community to meet basic needs for food, housing, utilities, and programs for children with the goal of promoting self-sufficiency.
Guided by the motto "Neighbors Helping Neighbors", they serve our fellow community members with dignity, compassion, and confidentiality.
