Concert Hall, located on the 3rd floor of the Clark’s Block building, was once the heart of the Natick social scene and hosted galas, dances, concerts, plays, exhibitions, lectures and other special events from 1874 to the 1930s. Over the last 85 years, this town treasure has sat unused for its intended purpose and abandoned as a hauntingly beautiful ruin. Now, the Friends of Concert Hall group is seeking to restore this 150 year old forgotten space and resurrect what has been lost.
On Saturday, March 22nd, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Concert Hall will be *OPEN TO THE PUBLIC for the first time in generations*. Come take a self-guided tour and see this gem of a space for yourself. You can marvel at the ornate Victorian details, imagine the beautiful events that once took place there, and dream of how a restored Concert Hall can fulfill its original purpose as an events space that will bring people together and enhance the social life and art scene of our town center. Historic photos, original artifacts and renderings of the restored space will be on view. In addition, the lead architect and members of the Friends of Concert Hall will be on hand to answer questions.
This event is FREE to the public. Donations are encouraged to help the Friends of Concert Hall raise $29,000 to launch a feasibility study with the architectural firm lined up to do the project. Due to the current condition of the space, only adults 18+ may attend this event. To attend, enter the Clark’s Block building at the Main Street entrance between Optica and Orange Theory. Follow the signs to take the stairs to Concert Hall on the 3rd floor. Elevators are available upon request.
