Golden Threads

A day of reflection, creativity and connection for women with lives shaped by infertility, pregnancy loss or interrupted path to parenthood.
About this Event
Join Us for Golden Threads!
There are few places where women can gather after infertility without having to explain themselves.
Whether your experiences are recent or many years behind you, whether you have children or not, the impact of an interrupted path to parenthood can stay with us in quiet and unexpected ways.
Golden Threads is an invitation to step out of everyday life for a day and into a thoughtfully held space of rest, creativity and connection.
Together we’ll slow down through gentle somatic practices, reflective writing, conversation and poetry, before spending the afternoon creating alongside creative practitioner and artist Hannah Turlington. Guided by the threads that emerge during the morning, you’ll use the words that have resonated with you from the morning to make a beautiful piece of textile art that is personal to you and your lived experience. You will connect with your creativity and explore using coloured threads, fabrics, and more.
This isn’t about finding the right words or reaching a particular place. There is no expectation to share more than feels comfortable, no artistic experience is needed and nothing to perform.
Alongside good coffee, a Greek meze lunch and a welcoming circle of women who understand something of this landscape, we hope to offer something that can be surprisingly rare.
A whole day where you don’t have to explain yourself.
