What started as casual jam sessions ten years ago in Boston, Massachusetts has transitioned into the internationally acclaimed cross-country duo Golden Shoals. Their original songs are often compared to Gillian Welch, with the added edge of instrumental prowess informed by energetic old time and bluegrass recordings. It's music equally enjoyed by songsmiths and heady instrumental pickers alike. The listener can expect the polished technique of conservatory training, in tandem with the grit, drive, and soul of musicians like Roscoe Holcomb or Ola Belle Reed.
They are no strangers to traditional music, having placed in contests including Clifftop (3rd place 2023, 4th place 2022), Mount Airy, The Grand Masters Fiddlers Championship and Galax. With all their experience and travels, Moxie is so honored to host this rousing old-time-style music duo right in the heart of Lyons.
