Welcome the New Year with intention by joining local musician and Sound Therapist, A P Macarte (AHRKH), for a relaxing and deeply restorative Sound Bath using bowls, gongs, and intuitive sound. Lie back and enjoy therapeutic sonic rejuvenation while you release and let go of the past year’s old energy.

A Sound Bath is a deeply immersive, full body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite a gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative process for mind, body and spirit. Using instruments such as gongs, bowls, voice and percussion, A P Macarte will bring you into a deep state of relaxation and through a completely personal inner journey.

Studies have shown prolonged periods in this relaxed state or Altered State of Consciousness (ASC), can be highly beneficial for bringing unique perspectives and emotional connection, as well as promoting a sense of well-being.

Where

This special Sound Bath will be held at the serene Natural Endings space, conveniently located next to the train station, in the magical town of Todmorden in the Calderdale Valley, West Yorkshire, which is a perfect space to resonate with Sound and connect to your inner self. Formerly a Post Sorting Office, this historic building is now primarily used as a community space which holds ceremonies celebrating life and inviting reflection, while supporting vulnerability with a calming, nurturing energy.

Who

I am Alexander P Macarte a musician, DJ, artist and qualified independent Sound Therapist.

Over the past 20 years as a global touring and recording artist, my sound practice has gradually evolved over time to use sound as sonic transport, as a tool to transcend our everyday waking state and experience deep inner states of bliss and exploration.

Since qualifying from an intensive training program with The British Academy of Sound Therapy in 2019, I have been practicing my method of Sound Therapy across the UK and Europe. I have created unique immersive Sound Baths for individuals, groups, and festivals, as well as facilitating public and private courses and workplace Sound Relaxation workshops to aid in workplace well being.

Clients and events include Manchester International Festival (MIF) , NTS Radio, BLOC London, Everything Gone Green Festival, Warm Up Festival, Whitworth Gallery, V-A-C Zatterre, and Venice Biennale.

Sound is my Passion. Helping others is my aspiration.

*Please bring your own yoga mat and any blankets or cushions for comfort.

It is recommended to dress warmly and bring a bottle of water. Tea and non-alcoholic Mulled Cider will be offered after the Sound Bath to enjoy together around the outdoor fire pit.
