He will be spinning Afro, Brazilian, and Funk vinyl on Equipment Room's incredible HiFi system. Tickets are limited, so don't miss out on this unique event where great tunes and great company collide for a great cause! Funky Psychedelic costumes encouraged, but not required!

This event is in support of the work of Texans for Greater Mental Health (T4GMH).

T4GMH is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to improving mental health outcomes by advancing the research, acceptance, and safety of psychedelic therapies through education, public engagement, and science-led policy reform. By empowering individuals and policymakers with research-backed knowledge, T4GMH advocates for integrating innovative, transformative treatments into the healthcare system to ensure expanded, safe access for those suffering from severe mental health conditions.

Topaz McGarrigle, a musical nomad from the bohemian haven of Dripping Springs, Texas, began his his creative journey amidst the enchanting landscapes of magical springs and untamed countryside. He started busking saxophone on Austin’s Sixth Street in fourth grade; Topaz’s musical odyssey then led him from London to Duke Ellington School of the Arts in D.C. to jazz studies at NYU, culminating in international tours and iconic festival performances. After traversing the globe, Topaz returned to his roots in Austin, where he birthed the Golden Dawn Arkestra in 2013 – a transcendent interstellar act with six critically acclaimed albums. In 2024, TOPAZ unveiled his debut solo EP, a vibrant fusion of Synth Pop, French House, Italo Disco, and Bloghouse inspired by his DJing escapades during the pandemic and drawing from influences like Daft Punk, David Bowie, Chromeo, and Steve Monite.

Located in a private basement hideaway – the old equipment room beneath the Hotel Magdalena on Music Lane - you will find an intimate space that houses one of Austin’s most special record collections played on custom vintage hi-fi equipment. Blending Japanese Jazz Kissa culture with our Texas take – Equipment Room feels like a wholly new, yet very familiar experience. We here at T4GMH are thrilled to be able to host such an incredible event in such a unique venue.
