About:

Aaron Shapiro is a Chicago-based guitarist, composer, and bandleader whose musical practice is rooted in classical guitar training and close ties to the city’s creative music scene. As a bandleader, his compositions have been featured at venues such as Andy’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Showcase, and The Green Mill. He has performed with a wide range of artists including Esperanza Spaulding, Patrick Bartley, Daru Jones, and Marquis Hill. Moving fluidly between classical, jazz, and contemporary styles, Shapiro’s solo guitar performances blend composed pieces, improvisation and exploratory use of sonic texture. At his upcoming Golden Hour performance at Epiphany Center for the Arts, he will present original compositions and selected repertoire on both classical and electric guitar.www.aaronshapiromusic.com
