🌿 Bring your favorite plant to life—literally!
In this vibrant, hands-on workshop, you’ll spend the week exploring the hidden beauty of a single cherished plant and discovering how it can speak in color, texture, and detail on cloth.
You’ll begin by selecting your muse: perhaps a local leaf superstar like grevillea or Brazilian peppertree, a florist’s favorite like eucalyptus, or even a personal treasure brought from home—oak, walnut, maple, or sumac.
From there, the magic begins. Together, we’ll dive deep into the colorful chemistry of mordants, tannins, and iron, experimenting with at least 10 different combinations. Each process reveals something new—turning simple leaves into complex prints full of subtle tones, crisp details, and surprising hues. It’s a kind of plant alchemy, where science meets art.
Using natural fabrics provided in your class kit (plus any favorites you’d like to bring), you’ll build a gallery of richly layered samples—all imprinted with your chosen plant. By the end of the week, you’ll stitch these samples into a beautiful fabric book: part reference guide, part personal artwork, and a keepsake of your journey.
✨ Whether you’re a textile enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply curious about what secrets a leaf can hold, this immersion will change the way you see plants—and give you a lifelong set of tools for coaxing their voices onto cloth.
