Major General Robert Ivany - Special Presentation

We are honored to welcome Major General Robert L. “Bob” Ivany (Ret.), President Emeritus of

the University of St. Thomas in Houston, to our WoW (Window on the World) speakers

program. After 13 years leading the university, he continues to share the insights he gained

during a remarkable 34-year career in the United States Army.

A West Point graduate, Bob served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for

Valor and the Purple Heart. From 1984 to 1986, Bob served as the Army Aide to President

Ronald Reagan, carrying the “football” and observing presidential leadership during a pivotal

period in world affairs. His final military assignment, as Commandant of the U.S. Army War

College, deepened his work with corporate leaders and scholars on leadership and

organizational transformation.

Bob has shared his insights on leadership—and his unique perspective on President Reagan—at

more than 100 corporate conferences, civic gatherings, and business school programs.
