Glen Matlock is an English musician, best known as the original bassist for the punk rock band Sex Pistols. He was introduced to guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook while working at Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood's boutique in London. Matlock is credited as a songwriter on 10 of the 12 tracks on the Sex Pistols' only album, Never Mind the Bollocks.
Matlock left the band in February 1977. Despite reports that he was "thrown out" for liking the Beatles, he has stated he left voluntarily due to internal tensions and manager Malcolm McLaren's provocations. Jones later admitted that his departure was a mistake and speculated that the band could have produced more albums if he had stayed.
After the Sex Pistols, Matlock formed the Rich Kids with Midge Ure, Steve New, and Rusty Egan, releasing three singles and an album, Ghosts of Princes in Towers. He also played with Sid Vicious in the Vicious White Kids for a one-off benefit performance. Matlock later formed the Spectres and Hot Club, and toured with Iggy Pop, co-writing material for Pop's album Soldier.
Joining Glen on tour is working musician and songwriter Kathy Valentine. Notable achievements in her music career include being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the trail-blazing band The Go-Go’s and co-writing their US top 10 hit singles “Vacation” and “Head Over Heels.”
