Gleaning Film Zine Launch + Dog Movie
About this Event
In Issue 05 of GLEANING, titled “The Natural World”, non-human subjects including animals, plants, insects, natural elements and wonders are brought into focus.
For this first-ever zine launch, we will be screening the Toronto premiere of Henry Hanson’s DOG MOVIE, one of the films mentioned in the zine, preceded by the two shorts Au pays des esprits and Spanky: To the Pier and Back.
In DOG MOVIE, “a passive-aggressive tenderqueer couple sends their household into a quiet tailspin when they adopt an elderly dog who shares the same name as the unemployed couch surfer they just can’t seem to confront in Bros Before filmmaker Henry Hanson's improvised microbudget debut feature, which he/they describe as ‘the trans Curb Your Enthusiasm’.” (Muscle Distribution)
Tickets are on sale now, and the price includes a copy of the new issue of GLEANING and admission to the screening.
