Glass in Flight is being held at Flamingo Gardens. NOW through Sept 6th, 2025.
Alex Heveri is a Tucson-based artist and avid sculptor who has been creating large-scale steel and glass sculptures for 30 years. She's also a practicing defense attorney.
Her three Glass in Flight exhibits represents more than 4 years of solo-work.
The massive glass and steel sculptures of life-like bees, butterflies, birds, beetles, mantis, and dragonflies, some towering 15 feet high, together weigh more than 50,000 pounds.
The sparkling, realistic sculptures were all conceived, designed, welded, and assembled by Alex herself.
All 3 exhibits are being booked into some of America's premier public gardens, zoos and museums.
