Ideal for beginners who has never done this and want to learn all about glass fusing. This session will teach you about the different types of fusing, the heat required for each type of fusing, show you examples and give you a chance to fuse your own item(s).
You will also learn about glass COE and be introduced to 3 different types of kilns. You will see, but not use the slumping kiln (that's for another session) but you will learn about the smaller fusing kilns (we have 2 different size Prometheus kilns (which you will use) and a large variety of Microwave kilns and will teach you the difference.
If you have your own microwave kiln and never used it feel free to bring it along and we will demonstrate so you can use it at home.
(Make sure you have an old microwave not used for food)
You will do some learning the first 30 minutes, practice in the next hour, designing and firing your items, and whilst they all cool down (a process we call annealing) you will learn some more practical stuff and have a chance to share what you would like to achieve in future in your glass fusing journey.
