Take a dip into glass blowing or build on your experience in this four-day skill-building class. Participants of all levels will practice fundamentals and discover new techniques while creating unique glass objects. An overview of the hot shop essentials includes teamwork, terminology, safety, tools, and various working methods to build students’ knowledge and equip them with an understanding of the material and how to apply it to their own work. Demonstrations and directions will provide hands-on experience. Note: Some of the objects created in class will need to cool and can be picked up the following week. All supplies are included. Proper attire is mandatory for working in the hot shop. Long pants, a comfortable t-shirt or long-sleeved shirt, and comfortable, closed-toed shoes. Please wear natural fibers (cotton), as synthetic fibers can melt at high temperatures. Please remove all jewelry from your hands and arms. Enrollment is limited—register early! Beginner to intermediate skill levels welcome.
