Introduction to Pickleball for New Players is for people of all ages who are new to the popular sport of Pickleball.
About this Event

This class will provide a safe place for those who have never played pickleball before, or who are very inexperienced. It will focus on teaching basic terminology and techniques, teaching you the fundamentals of the game so you can feel comfortable playing at other venues.

Participants will be expected to use the equipment provided (i.e., no need to bring your own).

Recommended Attire: Comfortable shoes/ sneakers + comfortable clothing.

NOTE: If you are experienced, please kindly refrain from registering to ensure there is enough space to accommodate those park guests who are interested in beginning to learn about Pickleball. Experienced players will be asked to withdraw from the class.

Know Before You Go:

Free parking is located around the site and all parking lots remain open — along Blvd of the Arts and in front of the Van Wezel, Municipal Auditorium and Blue Pagoda. Please avoid parking in designated Sarasota Orchestra parking areas.

Construction of the new Town Square (located between the Municipal Auditorium and Art Center) is underway and affects pedestrian routes between the parking lot along N. Tamiami Trail and venues west of Van Wezel Way (incl. The Bay park, Van Wezel, and Holley Hall). Signs are posted to direct you between these locations. All pets must be non-aggressive and on a leash at all times. Owners are expected to pick up after their pets.
