About this Event

Are you ready for some great Jiu Jitsu? because we are!

Girls in Gis is a community of women and girls in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that come together through donation based training events. They are hosted, instructed, and attended only by women and girls. It's our time to come together! All ages and skill levels from any academy affiliation are welcome to attend. No experience required. Our events are designed for 100% participation, but do allow chaperones to accompany underage participants as spectators.

Our events are donation based in order to provide equal opportunity to everyone. Your donations provide paid teaching opportunities for our guest instructor(s) and help to expand and make Girls in Gis programs such as our events, our leadership program and instructional training programs and our scholarships possible. If you are not able to make a donation please contact us and we will work with you so that you are able to participate.

You can also purchase a GIG t-shirt, patches and more GIG merchandise with your donation. All orders can be picked up during the event.

GIG Texas - Austin Guest instructors: Mallory Nelson & Rebekah Benoit

Mallory Nelson is a brown belt and coach at Village of Wolves (VOW) in Austin, Texas. She enjoys fun rolls at open mats and spending time with people at the gym. She loves the strategy side of jiu jitsu and helping people develop their specific game.

Rebekah Benoit is a Jiujitsu brown belt, beginning her training in October 2016.
Jiujitsu quickly became a life-changing path for her, building confidence and fueling growth in countless areas of her life.

With years of experience teaching kids and women’s classes, Rebekah is dedicated to passing along the skills, knowledge, and life lessons that Jiujitsu offers. She’s also been an avid competitor and views competition as a valuable opportunity to test her abilities while staying calm under pressure.

Her main goal on the mats is to be a supportive, encouraging training partner and friend. She believes deeply in the power of women supporting women and cherishes the unique bond formed through Jiujitsu where play, empowerment, and growth come together.

COST: $20 Min Donation. All Donations Welcome.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE. ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL BE CLOSED 4/26/26 at 12:00 PM OR ONCE WE REACH CAPACITY. WALK-INS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ONCE CAPACITY IS REACHED.

Tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and all sales are final. Doors open at 10:30 am. Please arrive early to change and get ready or come ready so we may start on time at 11:00 am.
