GHOST WALK 2025

The annual Ghost Walk: A Fundraiser for The Chillicothe Halloween Festival will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10:00a to 6:00p This popular event invites history lovers, paranormal enthusiasts, and curious locals to explore some of Chillicothe’s most historical and mysterious locations in the downtown area.

The Ghost Walk consists of self-guided tours, giving guests the freedom to choose which locations they visit, in any order, and at their own pace. Volunteer storytellers and guides will share historical facts and chilling tales of the paranormal at each of this year’s featured sites:

• The Odd Fellows Lodge
• Ross Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce
• The Franklin House
• The Majestic Theatre

Guests are encouraged to arrive no later than 1:00p to allow enough time to experience all the locations, as the last tours begin at 5:00p and the event will close promptly at 6:00p Tours involve extensive walking and include staircases at all locations.

In partnership with the Ross County Historical Society, this year’s Ghost Walk will feature a special exhibit and scheduled presentations on how fraudulent séances were conducted during the Spiritualism movement of the late 1800s and early 1900s. These demonstrations will give attendees a fascinating look at the tricks and illusions once used to convince audiences they were communicating with the dead. Presentations will be held throughout the day in tandem with the Ghost Walk tours.

Since its debut more than 15 years ago, the Ghost Walk has not only raised vital funds for the League of Women Voters (prior to 2017) and Chillicothe Halloween Festival (since 2017), but has also fueled growing interest in the city’s rich history, unique architecture, and enduring ghost stories. The volunteers and Board of Directors of the Chillicothe Halloween Festival extend their sincerest appreciation to the owners and managers of the participating locations, as well as to the patrons who continue to make the event a success year after year.

Tickets are $10 per person (Children 8 and under: Free admission) and are available online at ChillicotheHalloweenFestival.com/ghost-walk. Tickets will also be available at the Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau, 230 North Plaza Blvd, Chillicothe starting on August 20, 2025.
