This workshop is the next step past the Grow Your own Cutting Garden Workshop. In this workshop we will talk about more advanced techniques and garden skills. We will focus on the role of perennials in the garden, particularly with a focus on perennials that work well for a cutting garden. Some of the things we may talk about areStarting perennials from seed
Using heat mats and grow lights for germination
Direct sowing in early spring (before last frost)
Transplanting and potting up seedlings
Soil blocking and sustainable gardening techniques
Taking cuttings and other methods of propagation in the garden
Planting out cold hard annuals and early season frost protection
Biennials and how to utilize them in your garden
The role of bulbs in the garden
Using herbs in the cutting garden
You will be starting from seed, cutting, or by dividing 5 varieties of perennials to take home to your own garden.
To be honest I have so much to say and so many things that this workshop could encompass that my plan is to see what is going on in the garden the week of the workshop and tailor the information to that. It will be full of great info and lots to do and take home.
