This class is meant to be a practice in letting go and jumping in. Using homemade fodder pages, old books, magazines, and other paper-based materials, collage provides a unique opportunity to jump in and get messy. It gives a chance to create through destruction. To see the beauty in taking something apart and starting over. Students in this class will be able to create at least one 5x5 finished piece of collage art. They will practice making meaningful compositions using a framing method that allows for easy visualization of a finished piece. Then they will cut out and glue their compositions together onto a provided 5x5 card. Once their glued pieces have dried, they will then have the opportunity to add details using markers and colored pencils.
This class is open to both beginner and advanced artists.
Class materials will be provided, but if a student has any supplies they are excited to use or would like to share, they are welcome to bring them in.
$25 per student
