Join us Friday, September 4th, 2026 for a FREE night featuring live R&B, powerful poetry, an open mic, writer’s workshop, free books, and SPECIAL GUESTS!!! Also, attendees will have the chance to experience the world premiere of “The Get-Hype” cocktails and mocktails, exclusively at Discover Community Cafe.

🎶 Tyler Devon Holmes () is an Oakland-based singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, and actress originally from the Chicago area. Through music, movement, and visual artistry, she blends multicultural influences into work that feels both fresh and familiar.
🎭 Charley Ban Dogh () is a Chicago poet and actor whose work combines raw honesty with vivid imagery. His poetry explores vulnerability, temptation, truth, and the emotions we often struggle to say aloud.
🔥 ToyySoldier () is a Sacramento poet, veteran, and motivational speaker who transforms battles, scars, and life’s struggles into powerful words. Through fearless storytelling and heartfelt rhythm, she turns pain into purpose and every wound into a verse.

As usual, we invite all to our FREE OPEN MIC + WRITER’S WORKSHOP!
Poets, singers, musicians, comedians, storytellers, and creatives of every kind are invited to share! Open-mic sign-ups begin in person at 6:00 PM and continue until the list is full, so arrive early to secure your spot.
Before the show, join our Writer’s Workshop led by our special guest, Oakland’s own poet and author, Alexis Monique (), from 6:00 - 6:45pm. Come create something new, strengthen a work in progress, and connect with other Bay Area writers.
