Georgia Barge is a vocalist and songwriter from Kansas City, Missouri. She has enjoyed singing her whole life, but realized her true love and dedication for music as a young teen. In high school, she was heavily involved in the educational music program, encouraging her to continue pursuing music collegiately. She currently attends the University of North Texas, studying vocal jazz under the instruction of Jennifer Barnes and Rosana Eckert. She frequently plays around the DFW and Kansas City areas, playing solo concerts while accompanying herself on piano and guitar, or in small and large band settings. Additionally, she teaches voice and piano privately to students in Dallas. At UNT, Georgia has sung with the Seven and Four O’Clock Lab Bands as well as the Commercial Music Lab Band. She was featured as the vocalist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and now, she is the vocalist for the North Texas Two O’Clock Lab Band, where she enjoys singing classic swinging standards and twists on contemporary tunes. This will be her second year singing in the UNT Jazz Singers, the vocal group she toured with last April and will be performing with at the 2025 JEN Conference. In addition to performing, one of Georgia’s passions includes songwriting. She has released original music on streaming platforms, and is currently working on releasing an album of both original music and twists on standards that have inspired her as a jazz musician.
