George’s Fund – A Day on the Farm

Hosted at Growing Local, Hereford

Join us for a special gathering to celebrate the projects made possible through George’s Fund.

This event brings together supporters, donors and funded organisations to share the real impact of outdoor projects helping primary-aged children across Herefordshire overcome physical and emotional obstacles.

George’s Fund is a named fund of the Herefordshire Community Foundation. We provide grants to local outdoor initiatives that help children build confidence, resilience and connection through time spent in nature.

We’re delighted to host the day at Growing Local, a local charity based on a beautiful organic farm just outside Hereford and one of the organisations that has received funding through George’s Fund. Their focus on improving health and wellbeing through growing and outdoor learning makes them the perfect setting for this event.

What to Expect

10:00 – Arrival & refreshments

10:30 – Welcome from Bridie, CEO of Herefordshire Community Foundation, and Laura from George’s Fund

Hands-on outdoor activities with the Growing Local volunteers and time to chat.

12:00 – Lunch, featuring some of Growing Local's own produce.

13:00 – A guided farm tour.

Practical Information

This event is for adult guests and supporters; it is not a children’s event.
This is an entirely outdoor event; please wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear.
Parking is limited, so please car share where possible.
Major allergies will be catered for; if you have specific dietary requirements, please bring your own lunch.

Photos may be taken for future communications. If you would prefer not to appear in photographs, please let us know in advance or speak to us on the day.
