Geology Day at the Kees and Claire Hut with Nick Zentner
We are thrilled to host Nick Zentner for a day of learning about the geological environment of the Whistler backcountry! This educational day will feature a talk at the hut and a hands-on field walk in the stunning alpine terrain surrounding the hut.
Nick is a professor at Central Washington University, host of the PBS Show "Nick on the Rocks", and prodigious YouTube educator. Nick has been the recipient of numerous national level awards for education, including the James Shea Award. Check out Nick's YouTube page here.
- Tickets include bunk accommodations for two nights at the hut, August 5 and 6 ($135 value).
- Rain or shine. Be prepared for changing weather.
- This event is hosted at a backcountry hut, requiring 10-15 km of travel on hiking trails depending on route choice. Guests should plan to travel into the hut on August 5 and out on August 7.
- This is a self-catered event. Guests bring all their own food, sleeping bag, and pack out all garbage. Guests should familiarize themselves with the hut policies and etiquette when planning their trip.
