Gender Based Violence Information Session

Information Session 6-8pm.
This session is designed to help families understand the challenge of gender-based violence including recognizing the myths and learning the realities of the issue in our communities and schools. It focuses on empowering youth and their families with the tools and knowledge necessary to fight gender-based violence. This session includes three parts: an educational presentation, survivor speakers, and a moderated question and answer panel featuring community partners.

Learning goals/objectives

During the session, attendees will learn:

The definition of gender-based violence, as well as myths and Common warning signs that youth may be the targets of gender-based violence
How to support young survivors and create safer spaces at home and in our communities
How to navigate resources and supports available for youth and families in Halton
