Gathering at the Table: The Art and Spirituality of Dining

On three Tuesdays in September, we’ll learn how to turn ordinary meals into God’s banquet.

The bread and wine we receive at the table of Sunday worship sustains us. But what do we do to honor the food on the other tables of our lives? How do we honor and celebrate those we gather with?

• Be inspired to see extraordinary blessings in the ordinary actions of cooking and dining.
• Gain insights to share with family and friends around any mealtime table.

Using the short essays and reflections from Gathering at the Table by Elizabeth Hoffman Reed, we’ll learn how daily dinners are connected to the Lord’s supper. It is a simple book in praise of dining, a call to go to the market and to the stove and to the table. But this invitation is also a challenge: Do you love your food as you could?

This is not a cookbook, it’s an invitation-to-cook book — and more. It’s an invitation to learn the art and spirituality of dining.
