We are throwing a PARTY on June 6, 2026 at Shelter 10 in Emery Park!Please join us for a memorial picnic celebrating the life of our father, brother, and friend, Gary Hanks (July 16, 1962-December 4, 2025).
This will be a party - not a formal service - because Gary always loved a good time with his friends. Please join us and bring a dish to share, a chair or blanket, games (example: corn hole, badminton) and your favorite Gary stories. Alcohol is welcome — BYOB, please no glass containers. There will be food, drinks, games, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy being together.
As many of you know, Gary was a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, and if you feel like wearing team colors or gear, he’d absolutely approve.
In the spirit of who Gary was, we also want to honor his lifelong commitment to helping others. Gary was a dedicated blood donor with the American Red Cross and was honored when he reached 41 gallons donated. He also regularly donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that was close to his heart.
If you’d like to honor Gary, please consider donating blood or making a donation to one of these organizations in his memory — entirely optional, but deeply meaningful to him.
Come as you are. Stay as long as you like. Let’s celebrate Gary the way he lived — surrounded by people, generosity, laughter, and love.
