Gardenia Glow-Up: From Shrub to Showpiece

Learn how to transform your gardenias from ordinary shrubs into stunning showpieces! Botanist and nursery expert Calvin Zheng, a respected figure in Oahu’s landscape industry, will guide you through fertilizing strategies, efficient trimming techniques, and training methods to create a tall, single-stem, umbrella-shaped gardenia tree. Gain hands-on knowledge to keep your gardenias healthy, beautiful, and eye-catching all year long. Participants will be able to take home a FREE plant at the end of the class!

Location: Lyon Arboretum Education Department - Children's Learning Center Classroom

All proceeds from the class will go to the Lyon Arboretum Education Department School Tours program.

What to bring/wear

Participants will be provided with all materials and supplies: Gardenia plants and propagation materials.

Wear cool, comfortable clothing, and bring mosquito repellent. Bring water to drink.
