About this Event

Traditional Garden Support Structure Making Workshop

Morning Session 9.30am to 12.30pm

On this half-day workshop, you will be guided through the entire process of creating your own eco-friendly traditional garden plant support structure to take home with you. Our skilled instructors will lead you through each step, from the initial selection of materials to the final touches of your unique creation. You will work with sustainably sourced materials, primarily Hazel and Willow, which are renowned for their flexibility and strength. These materials are carefully chosen to ensure that your finished structure is both durable and environmentally friendly.

The support structures you will create are often referred to as sweet pea frames or garden obelisks. These elegant forms are perfect for supporting a variety of climbing plants, such as sweet peas, beans, and clematis, while also adding a touch of rustic charm to your garden. Their natural aesthetic blends seamlessly into any garden style, making them a versatile and attractive addition.

By the end of the workshop, you will have crafted a beautiful and functional plant support structure that reflects both traditional craftsmanship and sustainable practices. This workshop not only offers a hands-on learning experience but also provides you with a unique garden accessory that will enhance your outdoor space for years to come.
