Beginning in 2003, PWP spent 22 years working collaboratively with the museum and teams of architects, designers, artists, ecologists, and other experts to transform more than 300 acres of former residential subdivision plots into an expansive preserve. Today the site’s native forest, meadows, and wetlands are seamlessly interwoven with the museum’s contemporary architecture and the site-specific art that populates the landscape.

Located just 25 minutes outside of Washington, D.C., Glenstone is an immersive experience that starts from the moment visitors cross the entry bridge and begin exploring the rolling landscape on foot. Attendees will arrive at Glenstone an hour before the museum opens to the public, allowing them to enjoy a private behind-the-scenes tour. As they explore the grounds and learn about the plants, animals, and people that shape the landscape, the group will pause to take in many of the dynamic outdoor artworks that populate the landscape, including Jeff Koons' 37-foot-tall living sculpture Split Rocker (2000) and Alex Da Corte’s As Long as the Sun Lasts (2021).

Following the end of the tour, guests are welcome to remain at Glenstone for as long as they wish, continuing to wander the two miles of scenic walking paths, trails, and bridges, or venturing indoors to peruse the museum’s exception collection of post-War and contemporary art.

2.0 LA CES™ professional development hours will be available to attendees, pending approval.
