GAPS Norcross Police Visit "Supporting BIPOC Autism Families"

We are The Gaps Society a newly founded nonprofit organization bringing together BIPOC Autism families together in the community to share resources bond and connect.

Our mission is to bring awareness and resources to the Black Indigenous and people of color in the autism community.

There continues to remain a disparity [ receiving resources ]in our BIPOC communities and we work to bridge that gap while fostering long lasting bonds.

The purpose of the police initiative is to provide exposure in a non-critical/non-crisis setting. Support a more familiar and comfortable interaction between citizen and officer while in a crisis.

Provide a space to receive law enforcement resources. Opportunity to voice concerns.

El propósito de esta iniciativa es proveer exposición en un ambiente no-crítico/sin crisis. Apoyar una interacción más familiar y cómoda entre los ciudadanos y oficiales de la policía durante una crisis. Proveer un espacio para recibir recursos de cumplimiento de la ley. Tener la oportunidad de expresar preocupaciones.
