Gallery Talk & Demonstration with Susan Martin Maffei and Nelly Kouzmina

Both presentations are a part of the Community Engagement Series accompanying the exhibition at New Hope Arts.

Susan Martin Maffei presents “Weaving Narratives of Time and Place,” which explores the creative process of tapestry making, influenced by the environment, history, culture, narratives, and decades of consciousness. This lecture includes projected images and a Q&A session, revealing more than pictures in textiles and telling stories through the tactile nature of cloth.

Nelly Kouzmina presents "Fall in Love with Felt" which includes the history and process of feltmaking, a demonstration of feltmaking, and discussion of contemporary feltmaking.
