Dorothy Tobe, Ruthmere's Museum Store Manager and Volunteer Coordinator, will present a Gallery Talk entitled "A Lady's Complexion: Makeup in the Victorian Era" on Thursday, September 3rd at 11 am at the Beardsley Discovery Center. Ever wondered how Victorian ladies achieved their sparkling skin and cunning countenances? September’s Gallery Talk will detail all of the secrets of Victorian cosmetics, including their origins in antiquity; their relation to the economy, race, and public health; and some of the biggest myths still believed today.
