The KSO performs works inspired by visual art including a world premiere by Northern Kentucky composer Andrew Strawn with Flowers from Vincent, together with a tristate premiere of Michael Daugherty’s Symphonic Fantasy on the Art of Andy Warhol, and the war horse of Modest Mussorgsky (orch. Ravel) of Pictures at an Exhibition. Visual art has inspired music for centuries. The art of Andy Warhol, Vincent Van Gogh and Viktor Hartmann will be projected over the orchestra as the KSO performs the composers’ works.
