Brezel Göring verbindet seit über drei Jahrzehnten lässig Kitsch und Coolness, DIY-Ästhetik und Pop. Als Stereo Total haben Françoise Cactus und Göring mit Electropunkpop (mit Yé-Yé-Vibe), Prosatexten, Hörspielen, Theaterstücken, Filmsoundtracks und Kunstaktionen einen Kosmos geschaffen. Zum Nachlass der 2021 verstorbenen Cactus gehörte ein unvollendeter Roman, der 2024 veröffentlicht wurde. Und nun, gedreht auf lyrischem-Lofi Super 8, mit nachsynchronisierten, nicht immer lippensynchronen Dialogen (inspiriert von Undergroundfilmern wie Andy Warhol, Jack Smith und John Waters in seinen frühen Filmen) und Stereo Total Songs als durchgehenden Soundtrack, bringt Görings Spielfilmregiedebüt Cactus’ Worte als Stereo Total Musikfilm auf die Leinwand.
Als Experimentalfilmgruppe "Les enfants terrible" waren Charlotte (Lilith Stangenberg), Helena (Mücke) und Oskar (Chang Wang) unterwegs, bis die sprichwörtlichen kreativen Differenzen deren Aktivitäten ein Ende setzten. Nach langer Zeit treffen sie sich jetzt wieder und – eingeladen von Charlotte – fahren gemeinsam in den Urlaub nach Palermo. Charlotte hat Karriere gemacht als Schauspielerin, während die anderen beiden nach wie vor Undergroundkunst (und völlig verarmt sind). Und jetzt brechen Neid und Eifersucht erneut aus, als Rudolph (Twiggy Glouglou) in ihr Leben tritt. Alle drei verlieben sich und haben nacheinander eine Affäre mit ihm. Das Trio beschließt – wie in alten Zeiten – einen Undergroundfilm zu drehen. Demenzia, eine männermordende Serienkillerin, dargestellt von Helena, bringt unentwegt Typen um, allesamt gespielt von Rudolph. Das Drama nimmt seinen Lauf.
Als Vorfilmprogramm zeigen wir eine kleine Auswahl von Stereo Total Musikvideos der Jahre 1998-2019, darunter von Songs, die jetzt den Filmsoundtrack bilden.

Brezel Göring has been effortlessly blending kitsch and coolness, DIY aesthetics and pop for over three decades. As Stereo Total, Françoise Cactus and Göring created a whole universe with electropunkpop (with a Yé-Yé vibe), literary texts, radio and stage plays, film soundtracks, and art interventions. Cactus, who died in 2021, left behind an unfinished novel that was published in 2024. And now, shot on lyrical lo-fi Super 8, with “slip-sync”, that is post-dubbed dialogue that isn’t always lip-synced (inspired by underground filmmaker such as Andy Warhol, Jack Smith, and John Waters in his early films) and wall-to-wall Stereo Total songs as soundtrack, Cactus’ words are brought to the screen as a Stereo Total music film.
As experimental film group “Les enfants terribles”, Charlotte (Lilith Stangenberg), Helena (Mücke), and Oskar (Chang Wang) collaborated until the proverbial creative differences put an end to their activities. After a long time, they meet again and — at Charlotte’s invitation — head off together on vacation to Palermo. Charlotte has made a career as an actress, while the other two are still making underground art (and are completely destitute). And now envy and jealousy flare up again when Rudolph (Twiggy Glouglou) enters their lives. All three fall in love and, one after another, have an affair with him. The trio decides — just like in the old days — to shoot an underground film. Demenzia, an andro-cidal serial killer portrayed by Helena, relentlessly kills guys, all of whom are played by Rudolph. The plot thickens.
