FWKCC Lunch & Learn Series: Train to Combat Trafficking
Schedule
Thu May 01 2025 at 11:30 am to 01:00 pm
UTC-04:00Location
3065 Horseshoe Bend Lane Knoxville, TN 37931 | Oak Ridge, TN
In Tennessee, statistics say only 1% of trafficking victims and their cases are ever identified (and that doesn't mean all are rescued from their trafficking situation, sadly). Last year, 1,152 trafficking victims/cases were reported across the state. If that 1,152 was just 1%... do the math. That means hundreds of thousands of victims are still out there.
ANY business that interacts with the public, goes into residences, or simply has its own employees is likely to interact with a potential trafficking victim--they may even be employed by you without you realizing the signs that they are a victim of a trafficking situation.
The chamber STRONGLY encourages you to attend this important lunch program to:
☑️Learn the signs of Human Trafficking and how to trust your gut to potentially save a life.
☑️Get your business certified as a Tennessee Business Against Trafficking at no cost to you.
Here's how to get certified:
☑️Register to attend this Lunch & Learn; members can register at NO COST as long as you login to the Online Member Portal.
☑️Before 5/1, register with TBAT on their website. For the question, "How did you hear about TBAT?" be sure to indicate "FWKCC" or "Farragut West Knox Chamber" so TBAT knows you are attending our chamber's GROUP training.
☑️Important: You will not get separate/follow-up emails from TBAT because you're attending a group training facilitated by us.
☑️Attend the 5/1 Lunch & Learn and we'll confirm your attendance with the TBAT Trainer! There is no minimum # of management or staff per business required to attend BUT feel free to register others from your organization.
OPTIONAL: Want TBAT to come to YOUR office to train more staff or other locations? You'll have the opportunity to connect with them on 5/1 to make that happen!
