You are invited to attend ‘Future Ready!’ Hackney’s Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) Event happening at Hackney Church (St John at Hackney) on 13 October 2026 at 12 pm - 5 pm.
About this event
Future Ready is an in-person information event for children and young people aged 14 to 25 with SEND and additional needs and their parents and carers or families.
The transition from childhood to adulthood is a time of significant change for all young people. For those with SEND and additional needs, transition can be even more challenging and therefore needs careful preparation and planning. At this event you will be able to get valuable information directly from lots of different services, and talk to them about any needs, worries, ideas or questions you have. A range of statutory services from the Council, the NHS and the Voluntary and Community Sector will also be at the event ready to speak with young people and their families.

What will happen on the day?
The event runs from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and you are welcome to drop in and stay for as long as you like. Speeches from our leaders will take place at 12:30 pm. Please note that a microphone will be used for these, so anyone with noise sensitivities may prefer to join us after the speeches have concluded or use the signposted quiet rooms.

Photography
There will be photography taken on the day of the event. If you don't want us to use your photo, you can tell us when you come in. We will give you a badge so the photographer knows not to take photographs of you.
Accessibility
The venue is accessible to wheelchair users.
There are two quiet spaces: the Library and the Study. There will be signs to direct you to these rooms.
Attendees who usually use any special equipment (e.g. ear defenders) are kindly reminded and encouraged to bring them on the day. If you need any other reasonable adjustments, please include this in your order form.
