About this Event
Anglia Ruskin University and Chelmsford Trades Union Council are holding a second conference on the Future of Work, exploring the impacts of the rapid increase in Artificial Intelligence, robotisation and automation on the labour market and organisation of work and society. AI and the establishment of huge data centres have implications for climate change nationally and internationally. The leader of the Green Party has questioned the blanket commitment to economic growth and measures of productivity that exclude care and social value. How should unions respond to these challenges?
If trade unions are to play an influential role in changes to work they will have to consider new ideas about how to organise the economy and work. Come join us at ARU Chelmsford for discussion on the future of work. Hear from trade unionists and ARU researchers about the changing landscape of work, how it impacts workers and can ensure equality and inclusion. This in-person event will provide a platform for engaging in conversations and identifying the research and policies we need to inform the agenda. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn and connect with experts and practitioners in the field!
