Fundraising through Story Telling at Sinclair’s Michael & Debbie Carter Center: Our American Journey
Michael Carter will provide a private tour that uses artifacts, multimedia, and storytelling to illuminate the resilience and contributions of African Americans from enslavement through the civil rights movement and beyond.
The event also highlights a core principle of effective fundraising: the transformative power of storytelling. Following the tour, participants will reflect on how authentic, mission-driven narratives—like those Michael Carter will share—naturally inspire generosity. Connecting emotionally with audiences demonstrates how sharing a compelling “why” can mobilize support and advance meaningful work. Attendees will leave with practical insight into how centering inclusive stories and lived experiences can strengthen fundraising efforts while advancing IDEA values across the nonprofit sector.
