4 Week Storytelling Class - Level 1
About this Event
LORE’s Level 1 Storytelling Class is a four-week experience designed to help you find, craft, and confidently share a personal story.
Over four Tuesday evenings — October 13, 20, 27, and November 3 — you’ll work alongside a Lore Story Coach and a small community of storytellers to develop a first-person story for the stage. Then, on Thursday, November 5, you’ll have the opportunity to share your story at our Lore Graduation Event!
No storytelling or public speaking experience is required. Just come with a story to tell — we’ll help you shape it.
We strongly recommend attending all four classes, especially Week 1. Our first session lays the foundation for both your story and the community we build together. If you know you can’t attend the first class, we encourage you to choose a future session so you can experience the full Lore process.
What to Expect
At your first class, you’ll receive your LORE Workbook, filled with exercises and prompts to guide you between sessions. Each week, you’ll develop and share a new version of your story, receive thoughtful feedback, and build the skills to bring it to life on stage.
Week 1 — Find Your Story
Learn the Lore story arc and the key components of a compelling personal story. You’ll begin shaping your story and share your first version with a partner.
Week 2 — Build Your Story
Share your developing story with the group and receive supportive, constructive feedback from your Story Coach.
Week 3 — Bring It to Life
Explore performance techniques and learn how to tell an oral story with confidence, authenticity, and connection. Then, share your next version with the group.
Week 4 — Get Stage Ready
Share your final version and receive finishing-touch feedback to prepare for graduation.
Graduation — November 5
This is where it all comes together! You’ll take the stage and share the story you’ve spent four weeks developing with the Lore community.
And your story doesn’t disappear when the night is over. Lore will schedule one-on-one time with each participant to professionally capture a recording of your story — something you can keep and share for years to come.
Come for the storytelling. Leave with a stronger voice, a meaningful connection to your community, and a story you’ll be proud to tell.
