Fundraiser for Kyle and Julie Brunk
The family and friends of Kyle and Julie Brunk are reaching out to ask for your support for a truly deserving local family facing an incredibly difficult chapter in life.
On Friday, June 19, 2026, we will be hosting a community fundraiser at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in honor of retired Port Huron Fire Marshal Kyle Brunk and his wife, retired Cros-Lex School Teacher Julie Brunk. (see flyer)
Kyle devoted his career to serving and protecting our community as a firefighter and fire marshal.
Julle dedicated her lite to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher in Croswell-Lexington Community Schools. Together, they have faithfully served others, their community, and their church family at Colonial Woods for many years.
Today, they are facing a battle no family should endure alone.
Kyle is currently fighting a recurrence of prostate cancer after previously being diagnosed with career-related presumptive cancer prior to retirement. Julie was recently diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer that had already spread to multiple areas of her body before discovery. She is now undergoing aggressive and difficult treatments.
Over the past several years, the Brunk family has endured tremendous hardship, including the loss of loved ones, serious injuries and illnesses, and unexpected home repairs.
Their only daughter, Olivia currently studying medicine is preparing for her wedding this fall to her high school sweetheart.
What should be a joyful season for this family has instead become filled with uncertainty, medical treatments, and mounting expenses.
Our goal is simple: help ease the burden so Kyle and Julie can focus on faith, family, and healing We are asking local businesses and community members to help make this fundraiser a success through donations for our silent auction, monetary contributions, gift baskets, services, merchandise, baked goods, or other items that can help raise funds for the family.
Every donation, large or small, will directly support the Brunk family with medical expenses, treatment-related costs, and unforeseen needs during this difficult time.
We are deeply grateful for the support already shown by local businesses, firefighters, churches, friends, and community members throughout Michigan. Your generosity and compassion can make a meaningful difference for a family that has spent their lives serving others.
Thank you for helping us surround Kyle and Julie with love, support, and hope during this difficult time.
