The Suicide Prevention Coalition of The Community Collaborative for Youth and Families is pleased to partner with Full Circle Grief Center to host a suicide post-vention training on March 12, 2026. The training is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with an hour break for lunch (on your own). Full Circle Grief Center is hosting this Nationally Designated Best Practice Program that assists communities on how to coordinate a comprehensive and safe response to a suicide that includes:
• Strategies for reducing the risk of contagion
• Review of the complexity of suicide-related grief, especially for different age groups
• Recommendations for funerals and memorial activities
• Suggestions of how to talk to survivors of suicide loss to promote their healing
• Best practices for safe messaging about suicide and responding to the media
• Identification of community resources to promote healing
This training supports service providers to respond in a coordinated and comprehensive way in the aftermath of a suicide or any sudden death. As knowing someone who has died by suicide is one of the highest risk factors for suicide, postvention becomes an integral part of suicide prevention efforts.
