Join us for a celebration of seasonal fruit and veg!
Sunday 13 September 11:30am-4pm, Cottenham Village Hall
We are teaming up with Cambridge Sustainable Food for a feast of seasonal produce with a mission to save waste and redistribute surplus produce to where it’s needed locally.
We’re inviting anyone with surplus fruits or vegetables to bring them along to this event for collection by Cambridge Sustainable Food. Donated food will be passed on to local charities including Hope CIC’s Mobile Food Hub, Cottenham Community Cafe and foodbanks.
In addition FruitFest will have:
- Cookery demonstration at 2pm from the fabulous chef Waste Not Rowen
- A chance to press and taste local apple juice with Fen End Farm. If you’d like to juice a small amount of your own apples bring them along with a bottle.
- Childrens craft making a Crazy Fruit & Veg Hat!
- Taste test different apple varieties.
- Jam jar exchange – bring your unwanted jam jars for others to use for preserves, or come and pick some up for your own.
FruitFest is part of the Surplus Fruit and Veg Drive by Cambridge Sustainable Food, a District-wide initiative funded by SCDC’s Zero Carbon Communities.
