Join Chef Karen Demasco of Gramercy Tavern on Monday, July 27, at 7:30 PM EDT as part of the Coop’s monthly cooking series to make cobblers and streusels.

The class will be in-person at the Coop and streamed online via Zoom. For in-person attendees, there is a $10 cash-only fee taken at the door to help cover the cost of ingredients. In-person attendees will get to interact with the chef and sample some cobblers and streusels!

About the Chef

Karen Demasco began her pastry career at New York City's Gramercy Tavern over 20 years ago. She honed her skills in some of the country’s most beloved kitchens before returning to Gramercy Tavern in 2000 and serving as Executive Pastry Chef.

In the early 2000s, Karen won the James Beard Award for “Outstanding Pastry Chef” and has helmed pastry programs at award-winning restaurants across New York City. She authored The Craft of Baking: Cakes, Cookies, & Other Sweets in 2009.

There is limited seating and a waitlist to attend this event in person. In order to give everyone a chance to participate, please cancel your RSVP as soon as possible if you know you cannot attend. We will admit walk-ins at the door if any seats are available. So even if it's last minute, please let us know if you can't make it!

Please note that there is a cash-only fee of $10, accepted at the door. Please bring exact change.

MASKING

While face masks are optional for this class, they are required on the shopping floor at the Coop every Wednesday from 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM. We encourage members, guests, and staff to bring a mask; however, masks are not required to attend this class. The Coop does have disposable masks available at the entrance desk upon request.

RECORDING

This class is hosted in person AND online. The class will be recorded and live-streamed to virtual attendees. By entering the classroom at the Coop, you consent to be photographed and/or recorded by the Park Slope Coop Cooking Class Squad during the event. Your image, voice, and likeness may appear in on-demand recordings of this cooking class, which may be shared on YouTube and other online platforms for educational and promotional purposes.
