Frugal Foodies East Bay--Chef Spotlight: Dominique Crenn

San Francisco’s Dominique Crenn—France will argue she’s theirs—is the only female chef with three Michelin stars for her way overpriced Atelier Crenn, which I’ve only heard about on the radio. At $410 for the tasting menu, it’s anything but Frugal, but she makes some killer sandwiches that we can make on the cheap, and I love the fact that they are certified plastic-free! We’ll cook up something Crenn at a tiny fraction of the cost, and be our own Iron Chefs for a night.
