In this 9-week trauma aware somatic series, with my guidance and 8 time tested themes, you will learn how to connect with your bodies innate intelligence and wisdom and hear how to support your wellbeing. In one aspect, this is a mindfulness based stress reduction program. However this program is different from traditional MBSR programs in that it has a somatic approach. Meaning we work with the body & movement as well as the brain.
Many of us think that we are connected to our bodies. We use it everyday to work, we notice when it hurts, when it is loud! Rarely do we listen when it's quiet, the subtle, the softness, the unspoken and the unresolved.
A lot of information is stored in the subtle bodies. The impact of words, people, situations and fear leave an imprint on the body. Embedded in to the tissues and fibres, and flowing through the chemistry of our body are memories. The body is also the home of our "Being", the essence of who we are. The you that is regulated, calm and peaceful.
Through trauma aware movement and stillness, I will guide you in theme based practices that reconnect you to your Be-ing.
- You will learn how to build a consistent meditation practice.
- Our confidential sharing circle is a place to connect & be witnessed in our sharing, and listen to how others are navigating their unique life experiences.
- Concrete tools and guidance are offered to support you in integrating wellness practices outside of our class time.
- Nestled in the middle of our eight week experience, on May 7th, is a special 5hr silent retreat.
Classes are limited to 8 participants and sell out fast. Early registration is recommended.

About the facilitator
Melissa Lyons is a therapeutic guide who blends yoga therapy, somatics, psychology‑informed inquiry, and life mentoring, to improve the wellbeing of her clients. Her "life-changing" programs have left clients to feeling more self-awareness. more connected to truth and with concrete actions they can apply daily.
