Through centuries of art, much of it now in East Coast museums, join art historian Michael Norris, in exploring how a Greek bishop in Roman-era Turkey evolved into one of Christianity’s most beloved saints. Then examine how American artists transformed Nicholas into Santa Claus.
Dr. Michael Norris received his BA in Classics from the University of California, San Diego, his MA in Classics and PhD in Art History from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He spent twenty years at the Cloisters Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and has lectured worldwide.
